Our Journey of Hope
Round Two ... Our Journey of Hope
For those of you that don't know Hope - she is a spirited young lady, super smart, and has a tremendous sense of humor. She has fought her entire life to be normal, but unique. We could not have thrived through life these past 14 years without the love and support of family, friends, and a host of people we don't even know! We ask for that continued support as we move into another difficult phase of our lives.
Born in 2003, Hope was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia and Portal Hypertension. Hope received her first liver transplant in 2004 when she was 18 months old at UF Shands. Now Hope is 14 years old and after a tough medical year, the doctors at MedStar Georgetown Children's Hospital in Washington, DC have recommended a life-saving multi-visceral transplant (liver, small bowel, colon, stomach, and pancreas).
Hope currently lives in Gainesville, GA, an hour north of Atlanta, with her parents, Rob and Amy, and her older sister, Hannah. Hope's friends, family, and even school are very important to her. Hope is on the Canoe and Kayak club team, she loves dogs, and music is her happy place (all kinds - from the Beatles to Zac Brown). She loves school (although reluctant to admit it) and wants to end up in the medical field as her profession. If you haven't seen her lately, she has buzzed hair - except on the top that is longer and colored red (this time).
We ask for your continued love and prayers for Hope, Hannah, Amy, and Rob!
Our journey continues...and as Hope would say, "Keep me in mind" ~ Zac Brown Band
